Abstract

Introduction: the covid 19 disease outbreak is currently sweeping the world and in Indonesia, the government is making various efforts ranging from limiting community activities to trying to import the Covid 19 vaccine, this disease attacks people with low immunity, especially the elderly. However, in the implementation process, there are still many people who do not have the courage
to do vaccines because of hoaxes. Methods: The research design used in this research is an analytic descriptive design with a cross sectional approach. Results and analysis: the majority of the frequency of the highest level of knowledge about COVID-19 vaccination is included in the "Good Knowledge" category, namely 126 respondents (62%). Respondents indicated that the majority of the elderly were active, namely 102 respondents (60%). and respondents with participation in the COVID-19 vaccination in the "inactive" category as many as 4 respondents (2%). Respondents with less knowledge about COVID-19 vaccination were not active in carrying out the COVID-19 vaccine. Discussion: Based on the output of the chi square statistical test, Asymp was obtained. Sig. (2-sided) 0.001. This shows that there is a relationship between the level of knowledge and participation in the COVID-19 vaccination in the elderly.
